Tom Murphy

From Bonds to Biomarkers: The Strategy and Spirit of Tom Murphy

Thomas (Tom) F. Murphy is someone who knows how to manage risk, recognize a trend, and think long-term. For 35 years, Tom worked at the top levels of financial services, handling the intense worlds of bond and derivative trading, risk management, and high-stakes client relationships. But if you ask him today where his true passion lies, he won’t point to a trading desk. Instead, he will point to the great outdoors, a perfectly timed playlist, and the pioneering science of human longevity.

Today, Tom is transforming decades of sharp corporate expertise into entrepreneurial ventures focused on health, wellness, communication, and hospitality. He is a spirited community leader, a resilient survivor, and a passionate advocate for making preventative health a daily, joyful habit.

Rooted in the Great Outdoors

Tom’s story unfolds across iconic American landscapes. Growing up in the Chicago suburbs near the expansive shores of Lake Michigan, he developed a Midwestern work ethic and an early love for wide-open spaces. That connection with nature grew even stronger during his college years in Vermont, where the raw beauty of mountains, rivers, and lakes sparked a lifelong passion for outdoor exploration. Whether he's skiing down a mountain, hiking a rugged trail, or tending his garden, Tom sees a close link to the natural world—not as a luxury but as vital fuel for the human spirit.

Building Communities in New York

Tom’s professional precision has always been paired with a strong sense of civic duty in Westchester County, New York. He is a leader who doesn’t just serve on boards—he sparks transformation.

  • The Rye YMCA (NY): As past President, Tom successfully guided a major capital expansion, fundamentally changing the facility’s footprint and opening doors for thousands of new members.

  • The Carver Center (Port Chester, NY): Served on the Board of Directors for 6 years, he has led important strategic development efforts to ensure vital resources reach the community members who need them most.

The Personal Battle Behind the Wellness Mission

For Tom, preventative medicine isn’t just an abstract hobby—it’s a deeply personal mission. Over a decade ago, he started researching metabolic health, cellular nutrition, and wellness technologies. His passion for longevity grew from a profound family loss: his father died of a myocardial infarction (heart attack) at 61, and his sister died from complications related to Multiple Sclerosis at 53.

Tom has also faced a series of health challenges. He is a prostate cancer survivor (diagnosed and treated in 2018), has overcome several skin cancers, and has rebuilt his body after an ACL reconstruction and severe shoulder arthritis.

Thanks to regular primary care visits, early detection, and strong physical resilience, Tom is now completely disease-free—and frankly, he has never felt better.

The Ultimate Blueprint: Food, Fitness, and Fandom

Tom’s life philosophy is as refreshing as it is practical. He follows a simple, core belief: "movement is medicine, especially when accompanied by good music." You will see him putting that idea into action every day through a balanced combination of weight training, yoga, hiking, golfing, and biking.

When it comes to the kitchen, Tom’s rule is simple: eat food as medicine so you don't have to eat medicine as food. Having lived and studied in Italy, he fuels his high-energy lifestyle with clean, single-ingredient, Mediterranean-inspired whole foods, emphasizing deep hydration, stress-reducing breathing techniques, and restorative sleep.

Tom, a genuine Chicago native now living in New York, stays loyal to his roots by cheering for the Cubs, Bulls, and Bears. At the same time, he passionately supports New York teams like the Yankees and Rangers. His dream for baseball is a historic World Series featuring his favorite Chicago Cubs against the New York Yankees.
